Below are key proposals submitted by our Bargaining Committee to NYU for the new 2022-2028 contract.

🟣 Compensation: Article XVII – 10/28/2022

$204.75 per contact hour per Lecture, Laboratory, Seminar, Workshop Course.
$175.5 per contact hour per Performing/Studio Arts Instruction Course.

🟣 Health Insurance: Article XX – 09/28/2022

The proposed article makes subsidized health insurance available to all unit-eligible adjuncts for the first time and reduces the period of waiting for coverage from one year to one semester. Subsidies are increased for all adjuncts, and will now offer significant support for spouses, domestic partners, and dependents.

We are here to advocate for adjuncts, and what adjuncts have told us, repeatedly, is that we need to both strengthen and clarify reappointment rights.Β 

🟣 Annuity: Article XIX – 09/12/2022

Adjuncts may contribute to any retirement plan up to the annual IRS limit through pre-tax salary deferrals. The University will match those contributions up to 3% percent of the employee’s compensation.

🟣 Leaves: New Article – 10/07/2022

This article introduces sabbatical provisions, and covers other leaves including compensation for adjuncts acting as adjunct union representatives.

🟣 Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Side Letter– 09/12/2022

 

Tentative Agreements

🟣 Professional Development: Article XIII – 09/14/2022
Increase annual amount available from $150k to $250k.
Rolls over all unused funds.
Adds a list of eligible professional development activities.
